Karthik’s Work & Impact

I currently work at Copywriting Creatives as a Solutions Designer, leading content and accessibility design across client engagements, translating UX strategy into scalable solutions through to front-end development and production.

Prior to Copywriting Creatives, I managed the full digital lifecycle for the University of Toronto’s ECE Department. I led content and accessibility design across the public website and intranet while also handling UX research, front-end development, and production.

This engagement included flagship projects that reshaped information architecture and improved recruitment outcomes. Explore the full ECE production design report to see my approach in action.

ECE Homepage Redesign: Rebuilding Information Flow for Recruitment

The homepage was being bypassed entirely, limiting its role in student recruitment. I redesigned the content & IA using Figma and implemented it in WordPress to reposition it as an access hub for students.

  • Business Impact: Transformed into recruitment driver by directing high-intent traffic to key academic and program pages.
  • User Impact: Reduced time-to-value through a clearer, student-focused content hierarchy.

My work spans the entire UX spectrum, from strategy and content design to front-end production. Across projects, I focus on delivering measurable results:

Lowered by 20%

Lowered design-to-dev discrepancies by implementing standardized documentation, saving teams weeks of rework.

$24K+ USD/week

Generated recurring revenue for an industrial manufacturing client by redesigning their conversion funnel.

$400K+ USD

Designed investor microsites that successfully differentiated brands in saturated markets to close funding.

Below, you can explore a major GenAI studio transformation I led, and a recent list of various projects I’ve tackled.

Before joining the University of Toronto, I led JKR Business Consultancy, delivering CX and web design solutions that included operational and financial workflows. During this time, I partnered with Fix It In Post Studios to integrate Generative AI into their service workflows without disrupting delivery timelines or compromising output quality.

Digital Transformation: Integrating GenAI Tools for Film Production

The studio needed a structured approach to integrating generative AI without losing creative control. I lead the research to design a framework, then validated it through a live pilot project.

  • Business Impact: Achieved approx. 30–40% revenue growth.
  • Business Impact: Reduced project timelines by approx. 2 weeks.
  • User Impact: Reduced client revision loops and increased confidence in AI-enabled creative practice.

More of What Makes me the Best

I hold two Master’s degrees: a Master of Information (UX) from the University of Toronto and in Electronic Media from Anna University, Chennai. Combined with 7+ years of contract and freelance work, this background allows me to approach UI/UX as a science and art.

Between 2023–2025, I applied these skills to a range of academic projects at University of Toronto, many of which involved real clients and rea stakeholder pain points.
